In a previous project, dynamic approval was required such that different users have to approve a change depending on the system ID. SM7 does not provide such facility. You can customize the approver list depending on the change type which may not meet the customer requirements.
I created a table to store the list of system IDs together with the approvers such as system owners, technical service staff, etc.... Using format control, I generated the list of approvers for each change by running a query against the custom table. This population is performed on the change of the change phase. The list of approvers are stored in fields in "CM3R" which resembles the fields in the custom table.
